Is the Scion xD '09 worth purchasing? Safety, handling etc.?

Hey everyone, I'm preparing to terminate my lease on a '05 Toyota Matrix standard(was in a semi-major accident and just isn't running the same from breaks to handling) I went to my dealership and spoke about a Rav4 LTD '09 but they want a ridiculous 5k+ down payment or 500+ monthly payment... I was originally going to get a scion but parentals made me get a Matrix because it was rated to be safer at the time(glad I had it). The scion is WAY cheaper then the Rav4 and has almost all(- tow capability and some minor things I can add on later) the specs that I want(including Navigation and iPod connectivity with blue-tooth speaker).


Point is, has anyone gotten a Scion xD '09? Do you like it, does it handle well, is it comfortable? Thanks in advance and sorry about ramblings...!
