I have a 2009 Scion xD and having the XM radio module installed for the satellite ready factory head unit is rather expensive to say the least!
I've installed after-market stereo equipment before in cars that were not brand new but it was less than perfect.
I was wondering if anyone has done this before or knows if this is a difficult task to do for a Scion xD with the manufacture provided Pioneer head unit.
My questions are such as it difficult to get the dash off, tools required, any electrical to be done or is it pre-wired, time required, etc. Also, in your opinion, would you attempt fate and do it yourself or is this better left to the professional at a Scion dealership? I don't want to be punching holes in a brand new car myself!
Also, does anyone know where the antenna goes? Is it outside the car or is it in the dash out of site?
Any input would be much appreciated even just pointing me in the right direction! There doesn't seem to be information that's readily available on google that I've been able to find specifically for the xD.
Thanks!
